Learn to make Arts & Crafts. Be creative & make things you can use in your home, sell, or give to friends & family as gifts. You might even develop the skills to start your own business!

Nutrition IL Skills Training

Join the ILRC for our Independent Living Skills Training on Nutrition Education!

CONSULTANT/INSTRUCTOR: Evelyn Schumacher is a registered dietitian, licensed nutritionist and certified diabetes educator who has been providing nutrition education to Jacksonville and surrounding communities for over 20 years. She received her Masters Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Florida.

Interpreter Confidential

Attention all sign language interpreters! The ILRC has begun a mentoring program for all skill levels. Join us at our next Interpreting Confidential to discuss personal successes and challenges, group case study and industry support. This safe sharing space is facilitated by Nationally Certified Interpreters.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Interpreters will share and receive input on personal and industry topics. NIC interpreters will lead a group facilitated case study discussion pulled from experience, news and media. Use this group to prepare for your certifications!

Sign Language - Beginner Course

The ILRC is offering a FREE American sign language class for beginners. Classes will begin on Tuesday, January 31st and will be held for 6 weeks. Students will learn the alphabet, numbers, and basic phrases commonly used in the Deaf community. Classes will be taught by a Deaf instructor. There is no cost for the class but students will be required to purchase the book to be used.
