Rory Odom is the new Community Engagement Coordinator of the Independent Living Resource Center.  Upon high school graduation, Rory entered the Armed Forces as a United States Marine. After this he began in the Industrial Construction Trades and worked across the United States and Offshore Drilling Rigs.
Rory began working and engaging with people with disabilities after becoming injured himself in an automobile accident in 2015. After completing a lengthy spinal cord rehab he has worked as a volunteer at Brooks Rehab and has also become very involved with their adaptive sports program. He has also participated in National Veterans sporting events arena. After gaining knowledge and meeting so many wonderful people in these varied facets of life, he has turned his focus in this area to help others that face similar challenges. Rory resides on the Southside area of Jacksonville.

THE REASON WHY

I WORK AT THE ILRC

My hope and intent is to help others achieve a greater sense of self though helping others in keeping with the standards of the ILRC.
